Other body sites
Cytological examination may be performed on other body cavity fluids including pleural, peritoneal, pericardial, bronchial, gastric, esophageal brushings and washings and others. Add equal parts (or up to 30 ml) of the specimen to the Cytolyt® Fixative in the provided non-gyn specimen cup.
As an alternative, body fluids may be sent directly to the lab as soon as possible after collection. Keep refrigerated.
